Like any relationship, our relationship with God needs to be experienced as a dialogue. Depending where we are at in our spiritual life, do we experience God as a friend? St. Alphonsus Liguori, C.Ss.R., Founder of the Redemptorists and Doctor of the Church, has taught us the simple way of prayer rooted in our relationship with God as a friend. Through understanding St. Alphonsus’ method of ‘Mental Prayer,’ we will go deeper into the heart of God by meeting Him deeper in our hearts.
